Digitalization of Educational Institutions in Nigeria: Benefits, Problems and Solutions

This paper examined the challenges that have hampered digitalization of educational institutions in Nigeria. Secondary data were adopted in the paper. The secondary data were collected from print and online publications. The study concluded that inadequate funding, inadequate digital facilities, high cost of digital facilities, shortage of digital experts, poor internet services, energy problem/crisis, poor implementation of digital policies corruption and poor digital literacy are problems that have hindered the digitalization of Nigerian educational institutions development. Based on these problems identified, the paper hereby recommended the following. The government should increase the funding of education in Nigeria. This will help to achieve the goals of digitalization in the schools. The government should provide adequate digital facilities in all public schools. This will help to improve accessibility by the teachers and students. The government should provide quality internet services across the country. The government should ensure that the power supply is stable and available to all educational institutions etc
